Urgent ICE 9 RALP-4
Registration Flow Broken
Registration setup
87.6% of users who attempt to register never complete login. 584 users are lost at this step. Session recordings confirm the returnUrl redirect is broken — after completing registration, users are dumped on the homepage or a random product page instead of being sent back to the designer they were working on. Users from Klaviyo email campaigns also hit the login wall, adding friction to marketing-driven traffic.
Evidence
- 87.6% drop-off from registration to login — highest percentage drop in any funnel step
- 584 users lost at registration per 28-day period
- 167 sessions in 30 days show users on registration pages
- returnUrl redirect is broken — users land on homepage after registration instead of their original page
- Registration is forced mid-designer flow — users lose their design progress and have to start over
- Klaviyo email traffic (marketing flows) also hits login wall — utm_source=klaviyo sessions forced to register
- Registration form requires: first name, last name, email, state, password, confirm password — 6 fields of friction
- Session evidence: user registered at 1:59, landed on homepage at 2:09 — design work lost

A/B Test Hypothesis
Fixing the returnUrl redirect to properly send users back to their designer session after registration will recover the majority of the 584 lost users. Removing mandatory registration before using the designer (allow guest design, require account only at checkout) would eliminate this friction entirely.
